Ingredients

Sorakaya Medipi Talimpu Recipe

Bottle Gourd – 1
Tomato – 3
Onion – 1
Green Chillies – 6 to 7
Coriander – little
Curry leaves – little
Tamarind – small lemon size
Red Chilli – 4
Garlic cloves – 5 to 6
Mirchi Powder – 2 spoon
Turmeric powder – 1/2 spoon
Salt – 1 spoon
Tempering ingredients – 1 spoon
Oil – for tempering
Asafoetida – 1/4 spoon

Preparation Method

Take a cooker
Add bottle gourd peices
Add tomatoes, green chillies, coriander, curry leaves and tamarind.
Add turmeric powder
Add mirchi powder
Add 1 tumbler water
Close with lid
Cook for 10 whistles
Switch off stove after 10 whistles
When the pressure goes remove lid
Remove extra water from the bottle gourd mixture
Add salt and smash
After smashing add the strained water
For tempering heat a pan
Add oil
When oil heated add garlic cloves
Add tempering ingredients
Add red chillies
Add curry leaves and little asafoetida
Remove from flame
Add tempering to the bottle gourd mixture
Close lid for 1 minute
Now Sorakaya Medipi Talimpu is ready to serve
