Pulihora Recipe
Pulihora is a famous and traditional recipe of India. Pulihora is the rice recipe which is served as prasadam to Gods during festivals.
Ingredients
Rice – 3 kgs
Tamarind – 300 gms
Salt to taste
Turmeric – 2 table spoons
Green chilli – 200 gms
Jaggery – 100 gms
Ground nuts – 1/2 kg
Oil – 1/2 kg
Hing
Curry leaves
Chana Dal – 100 gms
Mustard seeds – 100 gms
Jeera – 100 gms
Dry Chilli – 100 gms
Urad Dal – 100 gms
Preparation
Soak tamarind in hot water for some time.
Cook rice and keep aside.
Extract tamrind pulp.
Add salt, turmeric powder into it.
Add green chillies ad jaggery
Cook this tamarind pulp till thick.
Heat oil in a pan
Add Ground nuts and fry for few minutes
Add chana dal
Add mustard seeds, jeera, dry chillies and urad dal and fry
Add curry leaves and hing.
Now add the tamarind pulp into this.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Remove from flame.
Add this tamarind pulp mixture to cooked rice.
Now the tasty pulihora is ready to serve.
