A few simple ingredients will create these crisp almond-centred biscuits.
½ cup malal (milk topping)
1/2 cup sugar
Y2 cup flour (maida)
7-8 almonds (split into two) or 2 cardamom (moti elaichi) – powdered
Mix malai & sugar lightly with a fork. Sift maida. Add the sifted
maida to the malai mixture. Knead lightly to form a soft dough.
Form round balls. Flatten slightly.
Lightly grease an oven fray and place the balls on it, 1” apart.
Press almond on top or sprinkle elaichi powder on each biscuit.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F for 8-10 minutes, until edges of the biscuits are golden and the top still whitish.
Remove fray from the oven and quickly and carefully lift biscuits off with a knife and put them on a
surface to cool and become crisp.
