Khichidi Recipe

Ingredients to prepare Khichidi :

Rice

Masoor daal

1 Cup

Onion slices

Ginger garlic paste

1 tea spoon

Ghee

¼ cup

Turmeric powder

½ tea spoon

Bay leaves

Cinnamon stick

Cardamom

2 table spoons

Khichidi preparation method :

Clean and wash the rice and masoor dal seperately, soak for half an hour.

Cut onions into thin slices, slit green chillies and chop mint and coriander finely.

Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, pepper and roast.

Add green chillies, onion slices, salt, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.

Then drain water from rice and masoor dal and add to it.

Add water, mint and coriander leaves and mix well.

Cover the pan with lid and cook till the rice is done.

Finally add ghee on top of the rice, cover with lid for few minutes.

Now the Kichidi is ready to serve.

Serve hot with till ka khatta
