Curd Rice Recipe
Ingredients to prepare Curd Rice :
Rice | 2 cups |
Water | 6 cups |
Curd | 4 cups |
Milk | 1 cup |
Green Chillies | 8 |
Ginger | 4 tea spoons |
Mustard Seeds | 1 tea spoon |
Cumin Seeds | 1 tea spoon |
Chana Dal | 2 tea spoon |
Urad Dal | 2 tea spoon |
Dry red chillies | 4 |
Black pepper | 16 Nos |
Curry Leaves | 6 Springs |
Oil | 4 tea spoons |
Salt | To taste |
Pomegrante Seeds | To garnish |
Curd Rice Cooking Procedure
Rinse, wash the rice with water and soak for 15 minutes.
Slit green chillies, chop ginger finely.
Pressure cook the soaked rice with 3 cups of water for 4 whistles.
When the pressure settles down remove lid of the cooker and lightly mash the cooked rice.
Let the rice to warm, add milk and mix well.
Then add the curd salt and mix very well.
For tempering heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal and urad dal and let them splutter.
Then add the green chille slits, chopped ginger, dry red chillies and fry for a few seconds.
Add curry leaves and remove from flame.
Now add this tempering to the curd and rice mixture and mix well.
Now Tasty Curd Rice is ready to serve.
Garnish with pomegranate seeds and serve with lemon pickle.
