Bread Upma Recipe
Ingredients to prepare Bread Upma :
Bread | 8 slices |
Onion | 2 big |
Tomato | 4 |
Green chilli | 4 |
Ginger | 1 tea spoon |
Turmeric powder | a pinch |
Sambar powder | 11/2 tea spoon |
Ghee or oil | 4 tea spoons for frying bread |
Salt | to taste |
Oil | 5 tea spoons |
Mustard seeds | 1 tea spoon |
Curry leaves | 2 sprigs |
Coriander leaves | 1 table spoon |
Bread Upma preparation method :
Take white bread or brown bread and cut or tear into small pieces.
Heat ghee in a pan and fry the bread until it turns into golden brown colour and switch off, don’t remove the bread from the pan.
Cut onions and green chillies vertically. Chop tomatoes into small pieces.
Chop ginger finely.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, add onions, ginger, green chillies, curry leaves and saute until onions turn transparent.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, sambar powder, salt and cook till tomatoes become soft.
Then add fried bread pieces and mix well so that the bread is well coated with the masala.
Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
Now the Bread Upma is ready to serve.
Serve hot as breakfast or as a tea time snack.
