Andhra Chepala Pulusu Recipe
Andhra Chepala Pulusu is a famous Indian traditional food preparation. It is a popular fish curry recipe prepared in most of the houses in india. It is a easy and simple recipe and it is very delicious.
Andhra Chepala Pulusu Ingredients:
500 gms – emperor fish, ( cut into medium slices )
2 medium onion ( finely chopped)
1 tbsp – methi/fenugreek seeds
11/2 tbsp – grated coconut
60 ml – tamarind juice
1 tbsp – jeera/cumin seeds
4-5 tbsp – vegetable oil
½ tsp – mustard seeds
½ tsp – jeera/cumin seeds
2 sprigs – curry leaves
3 sprigs – coriander leaves
3 tbsp – ginger garlic paste
1 tsp – turmeric powder
3 tsp – red chilli powder
2 tsp – coriander powder
½ tsp – garam masala
Salt to taste
Andhra Chepala Pulusu Preparation :
Clean and cut the fish into medium sized slices and keep aside.
Dry roast the fenugreek and cumin seeds on low heat till fragrant.
Grind to a fine powder and keep aside.
Heat oil in a large pan and crackle the mustard seeds.
Then add the cumin seeds, chopped onions and curry leaves. Saute for 2 minutes on medium heat.
Add half of the coriander leaves and ginger garlic paste, and saute for another 2 minutes.
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder.
Add the grated coconut and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add the fish pieces and salt and mix well.
Add the tamarind juice, garam masala and the prepared spice powder.
And ½ cup of water and mix well.
Cook on high for 5 minutes and then lower the flame and cook covered till the fish pieces are done.
Finally and remaining coriander leaves and serve.
